I guess the best thing to compare Trixie to is Nancy Drew.  Only Trixie was much, much cooler.  Trixie's a 13-14 year old sleuth.  (Gasp!  A book character has a birthday.  No!)  She has these cool friends that everyone would want to have, she has 3 brothers, that I wouldn't really mind having either (Except the youngest one, Bobby), and the guys in the club she belongs to, The Bob-Whites of the Glen, are super, duper hot.  (Read: Supple.  oh yes.)  Trixie's books were discontinued by their publisher, Golden/Western in the early 80's.  But there's still tons of fans out there who miss Trixie!  Since there are no more books, and we've allready read all of them from front to back about 40 million times, we write our own Trixie stuff.

I'm kind of a new comer to the Trixie circle thingy.  So far I only have one chapter of my first story completed.  I'll post it here. I have ideas right now for about 2 other stories in my "universe".  If you're interested at all, please read!  Give me feedback on wether you think my story sucks or what.  I'm not kidding.  I really want to know what people think.  Don't be kind just because I'm awesome.  *g*.

trixie background
So, some background so you wouldn't be totaly lost if you read Hidden Secrets and had never read anything Trixie related before.  When the series begins, Trixie's 13 years old, and she lives with her two older brothers (Brian,15 or so and Mart, 14), her younger brother Bobby (6) and her parents in a little white frame farmhouse in Sleepyside, NY.  Sleepyside is about an hour or so from NYC, near White Planes and Tarrytown.  (My mom's from Tarrytown, that's why I included it:)

Anyway, Trixie has 2 next door neighbors, one house is empty though, and an older man lives in the other house.  His name is Mr. Frayne.  One morning, Trixie's dad finds Mr. Frayne unconscious on the ground. Mr. Belden takes Mr. Frayne to the hospital, but he dies a few days later from pnemunia(sp).  About the same day that Trixie's dad finds Mr. Frayne, new neighbors move into the huge mansion that was previously empty.  The new neighbors have horses, lots of money, and a young daughter with honey colored hair, hence her nickname, Honey.  Honey had lived almost her entire life in boarding schools and summer camps, and was really sickly.  About her biggest wish in life is to have her mother like her.  Which her mother really does like her, it's just hard to tell.

Anyway, so Trixie tells Honey about Mr. Frayne being in the hospital and Honey's like "Ohmigosh!  But my father and I rode up there on the horses this morning and I saw a face in the window!"  So they go over to Ten Acres (the name of the Frayne estate) and kinda break in.  And what do they find?  This red-haired boy asleep on an old, dirty matress.  He's got a christening mug, a bible, and a gun he found in the library.  So Trixie wakes him up and they both go "who are you?".  And they both protest each other's right to be there in the house.  Anyway, it turns out that the boy's name is Jim, and he's 15.  He's Mr. Frayne's grandnewphew.  Jim's father died when he was 10, and his mother remarried this nasty man called Jonsey.  Afer Jim's mother died, Jonesy beats Jim all the time and makes him work really hard on his truck farm (which grows produce to sell directly to restaurants or at the side of the road or whatever).  So Jim runs away to live with Mr. Frayne.  But, he's in the hospital!  Oh no.  Anyway, Trixie gives Jim a smushed candy bar and the three become really good friends.  But then when Mr. Frayne dies, Jonesy comes looking for Jim because there's a large inheritance (well, large for the 1940's, but not like, millions of dollars or anything).  So Jim runs away again.  Trixie and Honey go searching for him, and find it!  So begins their mystery solving adventures.  When they find Jim, Honey's parents adopt him, which is cool.  Then, Trixie, her 2 brothers, Honey, and Jim form this semi-secret club dedicated to helping other people.  They call themselves the Bob-Whites of the Glen.  A few books later, they ask another neighbor, Diana Lynch, to join.  And then the trouble begins.  Regan (the groom for Honey's parents) has a newphew who's gotten into trouble.  The newphew, Dan Mangan, is an orphan, and has been living on the streets of NYC.  He joined a gang called the Cowhands (hey, it was the 50's!) and then got caught by the police doing something.  I'm not really sure what, because either I forgot, or it was never mentioned.  Dan is released to Regan's custody and begins to work for this older man who lives in the middle of the game preserve Honey's father owns.  Mr. Maypenny (the guy who lives in the preserve) is really cool.  Dan turns his life around, and also joins the BWG's, altho he can hardly ever go on their adventures because he's usually got to chop wood or something.  He and Di are the least-used characters.  Di's claim to faim is that she's the prettiest girl in school, and that's about it.

Anyway, this is probably way more information than you ever wanted to know.  But too bad, I included it anyway.
